For the third consecutive year, Qatargas participated as a sponsor at the Annual Career Fair for Qatari students in the UK. The Fair held on 20th and 21st February was the eighth edition of the annual event organized in London by the Qatari Embassy in the UK. Hundreds of young Qataris studying at various universities and colleges across the UK attended the event.
The Qatargas delegation to the Career Fair included senior officials from Engineering and Ventures, Human Resources Manager and Learning & Development Departments.
At the welcome reception marking the official opening of the event, Qatargas gave the students a presentation, explaining its global significance as a premier LNG Company and highlighting the numerous benefits offered to young Qatari graduates including individual development plans, training and development programs, rewards and recognition schemes and the opportunity to work with and learn from a diverse high caliber workforce from across the world.
Students visiting the Qatargas booth at the Fair learned about the career paths and options available at Qatargas as well as the scholarship and internship programs offered. Qatargas offers scholarship opportunities for Qatari nationals at leading international universities and colleges, in Qatar and abroad, in specific disciplines which are critical for Qatargas’ continued business success. The Company also runs a Summer Internship Program for Qatari national high school and university students.
Qatargas views its participation at such events as a unique opportunity to meet with the students directly in their country of study and help them understand the processes involved in making the right career decisions to be ready to enter the workforce.
